Wednesday Bible Blurb “Our God is an Awesome God” 7 2 2025
Have you ever just laid down on the ground during a dark cloudless night and marveled at God’s creation up in the sky? Trillions of stars in trillions of galaxies all made by the spoken Word of God. In an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, the universe was made in all its beautiful glory. How powerful and awesome is our God! God is so amazing He can put a camel through the eye of a needle. People were astonished at His word so Jesus simply stated the obvious, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27 [NKJV]). Have we ever sat down and considered the attributes of God? God’s divine attributes are permanent, never changing. Throughout the Bible, He shows us His greatness. Let’s look at seven of His glorious never-changing attributes which we can rely on every day of our lives.
Four non-moral attributes of God.1
-His Omnipresence: God is present everywhere. Psalm 139:7-10.
-His Omniscience: God is all knowing. Psalm 147:5.
-His Omnipotence: God is all powerful. Jere. 32:17.
-His Immutability: God is unchanging. Psalm 103:17; Heb. 13:8.
Three moral attributes of God.
-His Holiness: He is sinless and without fault. I Sam. 2:2; Psalm 99:1-9.
-His Love: God has an affection for His creation. He is the epitome of unselfish outgoing concern. I John 4:7-8; John 3:16.
-His Truth: He is always truthful, and His Word is trustworthy. I John 5:20.
God, the creator of all is so big and powerful, so amazing that He created the universe by speaking it into existence. We are instructed to become like Him. We must strive to live up to His moral attributes in our daily lives. The next time you have an opportunity to lay down outside and star gaze, think of your God and how big and awesome He truly is.
