Justice is righteous judgment from God.
Justice only comes from the righteousness of God and true justice only comes from God. God has the perfect standards (His law) and He is the perfect judge of the human heart. God dispenses perfect justice.

Since the original sin of Adam and Eve mankind has struggled with the concept of “justice”. How to righteously and correctly judge our fellow man when conflict arises? What is true justice? The world wants it. The world needs it. Is justice moral correctness based on humanistic standards? By whose standards should one be judged? Are we to be just and right before man? Or, are we to be just and right before God?
Solomon tells us “there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecc. 1:9). Since Cain killed Able (Gen.4) mankind has misunderstood justice. Some think of justice as revenge. Others think of justice as forgiveness even if the offender does not repent. Isaiah tells us of the futility of mankind and his seeking of justice. Isa. 59:4 “No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies.” As in the time of ancient Israel, it is the same in society today. Isaiah continues, “The way of peace they have not known, and there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace. Therefore, justice is far from us, nor does righteousness overtake us…” (Isaiah 59:8-9). The heart of man is desperately wicked Jere. 17:9 The concept of human moral relativism does not lead to justice.
To have true moral justice we must have a righteous sin free perfect judge. Jere. 23:5 tells us a “righteous branch of David” will rise up to judge. This judgement of righteousness will begin in God’s Kingdom (Isa. 9:7). Jesus is to be the righteous judge (Ro. 14:10; John 5:22). Only Jesus can judge righteously (Rom 2:1-11; Matt. 7:1-2). The final act of judgment on man is dispensed by God in Rev. 20:11-14. Perfect justice from a perfect God!
Whose standards are we to be judged by? Man? God? The U.S. Constitution? Moral relativism based on our own personal ethics? Human reasoning? Political correctness? Democratically voting into law the moral standards of man? God in His perfect wisdom has given mankind a set of rules to live by and He will judge us by these rules. Sin is the breaking of God’s law (I John 3:4). He gave us the ten commandments in Exodus 20 as a guide to living a sin free life. Jesus gave us the two great commandments to love God with all our hearts and our neighbor with all our hearts. These two commandments sum up the law (Matthew 22:37-40). We are measured by His standards. Justice involves right and wrong. We must be justified before God. We receive true perfect Justice from God by carrying out right acts of morally correct standards given from God. We have a clear-cut set of rules to live by.
Our job is to do God’s will justly (Ecc. 12:14-14). “Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor: Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow” (Isa. 1:17 also James 1:27). The concept of justice comes from doing rightly (Jere. 22:3; Rom. 2:11-13; James 2:8 “the Royal law”). We humans cannot judge correctly (Luke 6:39-42).
What is justice? Fairness under the law of God or fairness under the law of man? Man is imperfect sold unto sin (Romans 7:14). Only God is perfect and only God can judge perfect judgement of the human heart. Justice is a matter of right and wrong. All mankind will be judged by our perfect advocate (lawyer) Jesus Christ, who will intercede on our behalf (Heb.2:7; 4:14-16). Perfect justice only comes from our perfect God at the final judgement of mankind (Rev. 20:11-14).
True justice only comes from God. He has the perfect standards (His law) and He is the perfect judge of our heart. True justice is the loving merciful judgement of God on all mankind.
Justice is righteous judgment from God.
